School Based Tutor (summer-8weeks)

Job Title: School Based Tutor (Summer-8weeks)

Salary: TBD

Hours: TBD; non-exempt employee

Reports to: School Based Area Director

Location: Lakewood Park Elementary

1. Job Description:

The Tutor is responsible for providing the children with the extra help in their education. The duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting students in targeted subject areas via individual or group tutoring
  • Model and encourage collaborative study strategies
  • Contribute to a friendly and productive learning environment
  • Maintain reports on each child to generate reports of their development
  • Works closely with the Director of Education to provide updates on the progress of students


  • Support other projects as needed
  • Completes any additional assignments as requested by the management staff
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE                                 


Bachelorís Degree in Education/Psychology or Tutor Certification is imperative. At least 3 yearsí experience in the field of teaching is necessary in order to reach this position. Some experience in non-profit is beneficial.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently without supervision; ability to make decisions independently
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion; High level of professionalism and diplomatic etiquette
  • Above average interpersonal skills; ability to work with and through people at all levels to accomplish goals
  • Ability to retain information and utilize critical thinking skills
  • Must be a self-starter and demonstrate an ability to learn quickly
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management and team members
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team environment
  • Culturally astute and sensitive, while being able to confidently ask the right questions



Frequently required to travel to the various clubhouses throughout St. Lucie County

Some travel may be required for training and/or other business purposes   

4. Working conditions

Fast paced work environment; flexibility to working schedules may be required due to changing business demands.  General office conditions is the standard work environment (standing, sitting, and walking).  An equal opportunity employer and a smoke, drug and alcohol free workplace.
